Christine joins us from Habitat for Humanity Capital District where she serves as their Executive Director. On our One Troy team, she serves as a steering committee member. See what she had to say when we asked her why she got involved with One Troy and why she thinks others should be invested in One Troy!
Why Christine is involved in One Troy:
At Habitat, we believe that no matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life. We deserve to feel strength and stability day after day. I’m involved in One Troy because I believe that change is possible when we put aside individual egos, reach out across borders and work toward a common vision.
One Troy is a powerful collaborative of neighbors, non-profits, businesses, and government—all of the people that are necessary to make change in our city. By talking with each other, setting shared goals and holding each other accountable, I think we really can work toward reducing poverty and strengthening our neighborhoods. So much good work is already happening in Troy, and this collaborative can help tie it all together and multiply our impact.
Why Christine thinks others should be invested in One Troy's mission:
One Troy’s name says it all… we believe that we are stronger when we work together with one shared vision of a better Troy for all. We may not always agree about how to achieve that vision but we know that through honest conversation, creative problem-solving and hard work, we can chart a course for our neighborhoods and our city.
If you believe in Troy’s potential to be a home for all of us, One Troy wants you at the table.
